African Leaders of Tomorrow Programme

As the 2017 cohort of the African Leaders of Tomorrow (ALT) Scholarship Programme plan their visit to Canada to pursue their master’s studies in Public Administration, Public Policy or Public Finance, the Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE) will prepare to launch the 2018 edition of the African Leaders of Tomorrow Programme (ALT 2018).

The ALT Scholarship Programme will commemorate the late Nelson Mandela’s commitment to social justice and equity. It supports young African professionals to become leaders in public policy and administration.

Since 2015, scholarships have been awarded based on merit to young professionals from a range of Sub‐Saharan countries. The main goal of the scholarship is to contribute to a strong and effective public sector in Sub‐Saharan Africa. Special consideration will be given to equitable representation across the continent and to the advancement of women leaders.

Interested candidates can access all information about the ALT Programme on the CBIE website. The website provides information about programme components and funding, eligibility and selection criteria, university programme options available to ALT scholars and the application process.

The 2018 competition will open on Thursday, September 7, 2017 when those interested will be able to contact CBIE to acquire an access code to the on‐line application package.

Only individuals who meet all the eligibility criteria will be given an access code.
